  1. Good capture of personality in these shots, very close and personal.
    Be careful about harsh lighting on bright days. Try to make sure the subject's face is fully lit, if you can. There's an odd trick you can use when shooting facing the sun--using your flash for fill lighting. If not this, you can always over expose your shots a bit to compensate.

  2. Lange Ledbetter posted to your blog, he's an independant study from last year. He took the words out of my mouth! Use fill flash outside when you shoot people and they have harsh shadows in the face. Your 1st and 4th shots both had this going on. Don't use too strong of a flash, you don't want it to overpower the sun either, it's just used to fill in the shadows of the face. Great posing though, this you did well on. Great variety in composure is a must. Herzog
