This was a good shoot for you overall. I didn't especially dislike any of the shots, but some were repetitive. The first few look very similar. Also Christina is looking the same 2 ways in many of the photos. Try shooting from a lot of different angles; this will make your photos look more varied and interesting. My favorite shot is the second to last in front of the tree. You know how i feel about the house in the background though. Another thing i really want to point out is that she has the same look on her face throughout the photos. When you shoot portraits, you really need to take control of your subject, and recognize how they look the best and them make them do exactly that. She needed to change up her facial expression and stance, as they were all similar. Also, your backdrops need variation as well. The red looks very pretty with her skintones, but the white lacks interest and the brick is a bit cliche. Your editing looks really good in all of these shots though. I love the black and white on the last one. One last thing that you need to adjust is change your posing. Try her laying down, or even her hands above her head. All of these shots are head only, so work on full-body portraits. Love you! 40/50
This wasn't bad for you saying it was your weak subject! There are a few shots that are amazing and you hit the nail on the head. But on the other side, Christina has a generic facial expression on her face in a lot of these. Try switching up her positions and the angles that you shoot at. (Abby covered that in her critique) I think you have an eye for this kind of thing, you just haven't tapped in to it yet because there are a few really good ones. The third from the bottom is my favorite. Awesome way of playing with her eye color. Overall, not bad. Just play a little more with angles and facial expressions, and you'll do great. 40/50
I think Sarah brings up a good point with the facial expressions, try chaging that up on your subject. Most of these shots she was looking at the camera, position her away from the camera. A few she was looking away which is a start. The only other complaint that I have is look at your 2nd shot down and your last shot on here and tell me what is wrong with both of these (something possibly looking like they are coming out of her head!). Overall not a bad shoot on these, definately better than when you first started portraits last semester. Herzog.
